The Los Angeles Business Journal held its 19th annual Women Making a Difference Awards Luncheon on May 25, 2010.  The celebration honors Los Angeles based women who lead by example, successfully blending effective business vision with a passionate commitment to positively making a difference in both the world of business and in the communities they serve.

Janet Halbert was selected as Volunteer of the Year for her work assisting cancer patients. “Los Angeles is a better place because of the inspiring women in this room” said Janet Halbert, Founder of Hurdle Jumpers®, as she accepted her award.  “I’m so very honored to receive this important recognition from the Los Angeles Business Journal,” continued Halbert, “Hurdle Jumpers® blends my business skills and my passion for volunteerism, which I learned from my parents.  I share the award with all the volunteers, donors, foundations and corporate sponsors who make it possible for Hurdle Jumpers® to help others soar over the obstacles of cancer treatment.”
